Hypothesis

By redesigning the hero section to lead with 'HOOPS FOR SENSITIVE EARS' and specific benefits (Zero irritation, Maximum comfort, No pinching/pulling), we expect to reduce the 75% abandonment rate and increase click-through to product pages. The current generic positioning doesn't address the pain points that drive conversions in our ads. Leading with hypoallergenic benefits will create immediate relevance for visitors arriving from problem-focused ads, helping them quickly self-identify as the right customer and reducing bounce rate.

What we learned

Conversion & Revenue: • CVR: +3.78% (1.220% → 1.267%) • RPV: +4.65% ($1.33 → $1.40) • PPV: +4.91% ($1.04 → $1.09) • AOV: No change ($109.33 → $110.26) • Est. +214 orders/month · Est. +$28,821 revenue/month Replacing generic lifestyle copy with a problem-aware headline and benefit badges lifted all revenue metrics. AOV stayed flat, meaning the lift came from more buyers converting, not larger orders. Variants 2 and 3 used the same headline but underperformed: removing the full-bleed hero image (Variant 2) and adding a UGC video carousel (Variant 3) both slightly hurt CVR. The message worked across all variants. The full-bleed image in Variant 1 is what separated the winner. Statistical Note: Confidence level: 85%. Did not reach 95% threshold. CI on CVR lift: -5% to +13%. Called as a directional winner based on consistent positive movement across all revenue metrics and large balanced sample sizes (~93k per arm). Key Learnings: ✅ Message-market match converts: Visitors from problem-focused ads responded when the landing page immediately reflected that angle. The lift came from closing the gap between ad and landing page. ✅ Specific beats generic at the hero level: "HOOPS FOR SENSITIVE EARS" with three benefit badges outperformed "HOOPS TO LIVE IN" with lifestyle copy. Specificity builds relevance faster than aspiration at the top of funnel. ✅ Brand aesthetic protects conversion: For Ardant's audience, the full-bleed model image is part of the trust signal, not just decoration. Stripping it back neutralised the benefit of better copy. ✅ UGC at the hero level adds friction: Video-first above the fold delays the CTA. On a page with a 75% abandonment rate, that cost conversions. UGC belongs further down funnel where visitors are already engaged. Recommendation: WINNER, Ship New Group 1 Roll out the full-bleed sensitive ears hero. Drop Groups 2 and 3.
